Bird Watching and Star Gazing

BIRD WATCHING AND STAR GAZING

On the 26th of January, the teacher-trainees of G.V.M.’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education were taken for Bird Watching at Karmali Lake. During this time, Karmali Lake is a haven for several migratory birds. Bird association with Goa Bird Conservation Network. The evening was marked by a fabulous session of stargazing conducted by the Association of Friends of Astronomy. The initiative to organize these two wonderful programs was taken by Dr. Anna Neena George.

These two programs were extremely beneficial to me. During bird watching, I learned the names of several birds. This program has left me with an urge to observe different birds in my surrounding and learn their names and habits. The presentation that was given before the actual night sky watching was very interesting and kept us glued to our seats. We got to hear many interesting stories of the past. Viewing the night sky, stars, constellations and the stories associated with them took me back to my childhood days.
